You probably read all the basic things on how to setup your SEO structure on your site. And by doing so you started to organize your site in the most simple and effective way to be able to leverage all your target pages. It is basic SEO for your site.

How to share your core content is through the title page or your URL page. It should be easy to remember and understand.

Permalinks Setting

Permalinks is to set your URL’s page, it give your pages a name on the web. It gives your page an identity which is supposed to be easy to remember and easy to identify. So what you need to do is go to your setting on your WordPress menu then select the permalinks.

The best way to set your permalinks is to use hyphen and not the underscore, and to include your keyword in it. But try to keep simple and if you happen to set up this in different way I suggest you just keep to your current setting or else you will mess up a lot of thing.  You could send people to redirect page, which you don’t want. For example if you want to write about “healthy food for diet” your permalink should appear or look like this; your-domain.com/healthy-food-diet.html/.

Permalink should have hyphen and your keyword in it.

So for the extension of your permalinks setting you could use .html ; .htm or .php . Those are the most common extension you could find and they will ank your page better.

Privacy Setting

If you just started your blog or your site, you should set this correctly, you might want to set the privacy just visible to visitors but not to search engine. Why we need to do this? This to give time for you to built up your site, to populate your site with enough content.

Give your new site time and populate with content at first, after 1 month you set the be visible to everyone.

By the time your site go for public it should be populated by your content and the search engine have something to crawled.  You don’t need to rush to set this to everyone, give yourself time to adjust all the setting, create content and get familiar first with your thing especially if you are new to this.
